In a Moment - Issue 2
Calm can be cultivated through small daily practices. It’s easier on our nervous system to introduce these incremental changes vs. a dramatic shift. A very simple way to begin to make those changes is through the breath.
Begin to notice your breath. Where do you feel your breath? In your nostrils? Your throat? Your chest? Your belly?
See if you can smooth out the edges of your breath. Evening your breath. Not controlling or forcing your breath, but gently guiding your breath.
Begin to take a breath in, counting slowly
1.
2..
3…
4….
Pause, lungs full. Then breathing out, counting slowly.

6.
Pause. Lungs empty.
Repeat this pattern, several times. Elongated inhales, spacious exhales. Allow a sense of calm to envelope you for just a moment.
